Children's Waiting Room Attendant
Provide supervision to children (ages 6 months to 12 years old) whose parent/sibling(s) have medical appointments at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) or at Hugo V. Mendoza Family Care Center. Operating hours for the Children’s Waiting Room are Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm at WBAMC and from 1pm - 4pm at Mendoza.
· Start time for CWR Employee is 0745 (room opens at 0800, 15 mins should be used to set up and prepare the room).
1. Program and Services Management
a. Provide a variety of activities for toddlers to 12 years old
b. Models exemplary behavior for parents and volunteers
c. Interacts with children and provides a nurturing environment
d. Communicates to Programs Manager and POC at Hospital of any issues or concerns in CWR
e. Follows all Child Abuse Reporting procedures when necessary
f. Supervises all Volunteers
g. Ensures that all CWR policies are followed
2. Facility Management
a. Opens and closes the center
b. Maintains safe and clean childwatch area
c. Ensures new parents fill out proper registration forms and provides required documents
d. Ensures each parent signs child in and out
e. Maintains registration files and parent information up to date
f. Ensures all records are kept locked in filing cabinet when not in use
g. Reports unsafe conditions to the Director
h. Provides parent and Programs Manager with written accident report involving any child
i. Cleans all toys with Cavi Wipes or spray upon closing of center
4. Equipment Management
a. Keeps toys and equipment clean and sanitary and in good working condition
b. Inform Programs Manager about needed supplies
Qualifications: Work experience with children. An understanding of military family challenges. Experience preparing and developing age-appropriate activities.
*Reliable transportation is required for this position*
Post-Hire Requirements (Must be completed before first day on the job)
1. CPR, First Aid and KIT Training (Online training to be determined by CDC Director).
