Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Food Pantry Stocker to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and well-stocked food pantry to ensure our military families receive the support they need. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will help create a welcoming environment while managing inventory and assisting with daily operations.
Duties
- Stock shelves efficiently using inventory management systems and RF scanners to track supplies accurately
- Load and unload deliveries using pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual handling techniques while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain inventory control by conducting regular stock checks, rotating perishable items, and ensuring proper packaging of food items
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying shipments and organizing storage areas
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging food displays attractively and ensuring produce is fresh and appealing
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of storage areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Provide excellent customer service by helping visitors locate items, answering questions, and maintaining a friendly environment
Skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting between 30 - 50 pounds safely and efficiently during stocking or unloading activities
- Ability to stand and bend while stocking shelves
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain order in storage areas
- Proven experience in retail sales, grocery store operations, or food service environments
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and assisting visitors
- Knowledge of grocery store merchandising, packaging, shipping & receiving procedures, and retail math principles.
