Children's Program Coordinator
Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and upkeeping the best culture for Child Watch/Zone staff, Preschool staff, children, and members. Implements best practices/procedures in Maintenance/Custodial. Ensure the approved Membership Best Practices are implemented and tracked. Provide staff coaching, training and “Hands On” leadership in the assigned department. Responsible for ensuring that the facility is always safe and secure. Attending all YMCA training meetings, special events and staff meetings as requested. Must uphold and promote the YMCA mission by demonstrating the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Main Responsibilities
Supports the SR Program Director as needed in administration and operational oversight of Child Watch/Zone, Mother’s Day Out and All About Me programs.
Solely responsible for staff scheduling, snack inventory, money drops, room assignments, parent feedback and interactions, and child and staff safety.
Guides, program design and implementation provide direction, support, and training to all team leads.
Coordinates Family Friday, Kid’s night Out, and Sunday Funday by way of ordering pizza and directing staff with effective leadership.
Represents and promotes the ASYMCA within the local community.
Develops and maintains partnerships with various municipalities, Fort Cavazos, local chamber of commerce, school districts, and various other non-profits.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee Child Watch and Zone, Mother’s Day out, and All About Me
- Responsible for the daily operations of Child Watch and Zone, Mother’s Day Out and All About Me including opening and closing the facility according to the association approved calendar
- Responsible for the security of the facility
- Ensure department is cleaned and maintained at all times
- Responsible for the scheduling, monitoring and tracking all staff in Child Watch/Zone
- Coordinates all programs/classes along with his/her designee
- Responsible for all Cash Handling procedures and Association Policies/Procedures
- Engage in community speaking engagements
- Ability to serve in community-based service organizations
- Provide leadership/supervision for all Child Watch and Preschool staff
- Maintain rosters for Family Friday, Kid’s Night Out, Sunday Funday, Mother’s Day Out and All About Me
- Maintain Snack Card Purchases, and Receipts for Child Watch and Zone.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Child Watch and Zone must maintain and have current the following credentials and licensure:
First Aid/CPR Certification
State Police Criminal Record Check
F.B.I. Fingerprint Screening

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; twist; reach; set up ladders and scaffolding. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds.

Work Environment
The work environment is set at the sign in location of Child Watch. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel
20% travel is expected. Must be able to travel from one facility to another and pick up supplies and visit personnel as needed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but, not required
- Minimum 2 years of management experience, preferably Y or other non-profit
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 3-5 years of child supervision in a childcare related work environment
- 2-4 years of employee supervision is required
- Must be able to exercise prominent levels of discretion and confidentiality
- Able to make decisive, sound decisions
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills
- Strong Computer skills
