Regional Development Director - Texas
Working under the leadership and strategic direction of the Vice President, Development, the Regional Development Officer will be responsible for implementing regional fundraising plans and achieving revenue goals through major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, and events. This position requires a proactive and externally focused professional who excels at building relationships and securing philanthropic support in a geographically diverse region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Frontline Fundraising & Revenue Generation
- Execute regional fundraising strategies established in partnership with the Vice President, Development
- Achieve and exceed annual revenue targets across individual, corporate, and foundation giving
- Actively manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, leading cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new funding opportunities across Texas
- Build and sustain strong relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders
- Serve as a primary relationship manager and ambassador for the Armed Services YMCA in Texas
- Develop and grow partnerships aligned with mission priorities and revenue goals
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities with private foundations and corporate giving programs
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling proposals, reports, and stewardship materials
- Support the growth of institutional funding as a key revenue stream
- Support regional and national fundraising events through sponsorship development, donor engagement, and attendance
- Leverage events as a strategic tool for revenue generation and relationship-building
- Partner with internal teams and volunteers to maximize event outcomes
- Expand the organization’s presence across Texas by building partnerships with businesses, civic leaders, and military communities
- Collaborate with program staff and leadership to align fundraising activities with community needs and impact
- Represent the organization at regional events, meetings, and networking opportunities
- Regular travel throughout Texas to meet with donors, partners, and stakeholders
- Travel for national team meetings and events, as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education and Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree AND 5–7+ years of fundraising, sales, or business development experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue goals
- Proven ability to build and manage donor and partner relationships
- Experience working in a regionally based or remote fundraising role
- Experience in nonprofit development, particularly in major gifts, corporate giving, and grants
- Familiarity with Texas philanthropic and corporate landscape
- Experience supporting or leading fundraising events and sponsorship programs
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and prospect research tools
- Strong communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently in a remote environment
