The Staff Accountant (partially remote position) will be responsible for supporting the Senior Staff Accountants and Financial Analyst of the HQ Finance Department.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various support accounting functions, including general accounting, billing, A/R, A/P, financial reporting, and cash management, to complete the full finance cycle for daily, monthly, and annual operations. This position will be responsible for transaction entry, reconciliations, and managing deadlines set by Headquarters Finance.
Salary commensurate with experience $60-75K with annual bonus potential and comprehensive benefits package.
Main Responsibilities
- · Responsible for the month-end close process, accounting operations, journal entries, and reconciliation.
- · Coordinate with HQ Finance to process transactions and Sage Intacct record keeping processes.
- · Review transactions and maintain ASYMCA accounting policies and procedures.
- · Manage annual accruals and year end activity for any applicable revenue earned or expenses incurred.
- · Perform general account analysis and any reconciliations needed on a monthly basis.
- · Provide reports as requested to Senior Accountants, the VP of Finance and/or the Executive Management Team.
- · Set priorities and goals for daily work and projects.
- · Serve as a key accounting and transaction support person for the HQ Finance Team.
- · Work with various software platforms to extract data and accomplish monthly data entry.
- · Ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement and automation to achieve greater efficiencies, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting.
Qualifications
- · Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience is required.
- · 5 years total experience including experience with nonprofit accounting is required.
- · Experience with Sage Intacct accounting system preferred
- · Strong detail-oriented skillset with the ability to apply a positive team approach
- · Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.
- · Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- · Able to perform sedentary work including working at a workstation and performing repetitive keyboarding activities.
- · Able to operate general office equipment. Visual and hearing acuity necessary to operate equipment, use telecommunication, read fine print, and utilize a computer monitor throughout the course of a normal workday.
- · Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Some physical effort may be required.
